Rainwater management systems were provided to 5 families in Ranminithanna Village Service Area of Tissamaharama Divisional Secretariat of Hambantota District under 50% contribution in 2019. These families are engaged in the cultivation of comari as a self-employment, In order to expand the cultivation, systems including rainwater collection tanks with a capacity of 5000 liters were established to collect the rainwater flowing through the houses using rain gutters. On 04.11.2022, the ministry officials will monitor the progress of those five (05) projects. It has been observed that apart from aloe vera cultivation, gardening and passion fruit, lime, coconut, dragon fruit, cashew, cowpea and pineapple are also being successfully cultivated.
